You’ve probably noticed by now that I don’t allow comments here — and yet, I also make the claim that I want to hear from my readers. My reasoning is fairly simple: I don’t want to host nasty fights on my website. We’ve all seen what can happen all too easily and all too quickly on other sites. My hope is to create work that moves people, that provokes thought and emotion — and I do want to hear about it! So if something that I’ve posted here moves you to engage in a dialogue with me, I encourage you to explore these options:
- You’re free to repost my work on your social media platforms and host a discussion there. I would prefer that you keep my name attached to the post and link back here, but I’m also not interested in policing where my work goes. Do your best. Remember that I’m a human being, too. Then do as you will.
- Write to me in the real world. If you take the time to write a postcard or a letter to me, I promise you that I will read it and respond, either through this website or directly back to you (assuming you provide a return address). If you don’t want me to make your correspondence public, just say so. I honor your consent.
Here is the address to use to write to me:
Emily Millay Haddad
P.O. Box 25098
Durham, NC 27702
USA
Thank you for your patience with my quirks! I hope you enjoy what you see and read here.
