My intention is to make films that move people, that tell stories which bring people that much closer to liberation and justice and a little solace in their lives. What draws me to the business and art of motion pictures is the collaboration and convergence of so many skills and talents, all in the service of story. My skill sets are diverse: as an actor, I've trained with Mike Nichols, George Morrison and Joan Darling; as a writer, I've made a living with words, writing copy and proofing pages with hawk-eyed efficiency; as an independent filmmaker, I've produced a one-hour television pilot on my own resources and continue to develop ideas; as an activist, I have effectively strategized and executed campaigns, interfacing with individuals of all stripes and creating media outreach to successfully achieve our goals. With cinema, I bring all of those skills to the table, along with my unflagging commitment to excellence. It is the only industry I know that so effectively combines everything that I do best: creativity, concentration, endurance, and intensity.
